We will be hosting a live stream or the WCSRC Charter School Conference on our Freedom Channel.tv video platform this Saturday from 9am to 5pm.

This conference is an opportunity to learn from national leaders in the public charter school movement including these two keynote speakers: 

     Dr. Yvonne Chan:  the founder and principal of the Vaughn Next Century Learning Center serving 3,000 students in Los Angeles.   This was the first public school conversion to a charter school in America, and Dr. Chan used California's charter law to turn this habitually failing public school into a beacon of hope in her community.  Dr. Chan began her education career as an elementary school teacher in 1968 and went on to serve as a principal, charter school principal, and even served two terms on the State Board of Education.

     Marta Reyes:  the first State Director of the California Division of Charter Schools.  Marta was also one of the founding board members of the California Charter School Association and the founder and former Executive Director of one of California's first charter schools.
