Unions representing public sector employees in Washington have no obligation to report how they spend funds forcibly collected from workers, even though private sector unions have had to file public financial reports for 55 years.
The Mukilteo School Board spends half the levy on enhancements to employee wages, almost entirely for no additional services to students. Upcoming union contract-required raises could explain the higher levy request.
